David E. Thomas Joins RIS as Vice President of Sales

Driving Utility Digital Transformation with Proven Leadership

We are excited to announce that David E. Thomas has joined Remote Intelligence Solutions (RIS) as Vice President of Sales. As a veteran electric utility executive with decades of experience in enterprise software and grid modernization, David brings critical insight into how utilities adopt new technology.

As RIS expands the reach of UTELinspect, our inspection data management platform, David will help utilities translate today’s asset data challenges into tomorrow’s AI-ready solutions.

At this critical time — when, according to Power magazine, the U.S. is facing “the fastest, largest and most concentrated surge in electricity demand in history” — RIS is scaling its solutions to meet the industry’s growing needs. David is uniquely positioned to lead this effort, drawing on his extensive background managing sales and implementation teams across the utility landscape.

“The electric industry urgently needs UTELinspect,” says David. “They are drowning in asset data, especially now with drones in the picture, which deliver intelligent insights but also create risk. If you know about anomalies and do nothing to mitigate them, they become a liability.”

Tracking inspections, maintenance, and upgrades for an electric system is a monumental task. Utility leaders — from rural electric co-ops to investor-owned giants — are seeking solutions that are searchable, accessible, accurate, and current. UTELinspect addresses these challenges head-on, with a system that is practical for field users and powerful for the back office.

According to Stuart Rudolph, President of RIS, “Drones create the growing challenge of managing all of these additional images to assess and analyze for reliability, safety, and sustainability. By combining current inspection data with historical field and aerial information, utility executives can now utilize a comprehensive, purpose-built system to create a powerful AI-enabled future. It’s a matter of saving and storing data correctly to make it easily accessible.”

UTELinspect from Remote Intelligence Solutions is meeting and exceeding power industry expectations for solutions to this asset data management challenge, while powering the industry’s digital transformation and its move to incorporate AI solutions.
